Meram Osdorp: Turkish delight by the lake
When a day is warm and sunny, especially weekend, the best thing to do is definitely going to a beach or lake to enjoy the scenery, relax, and when possible sharing meals with your loved ones. And that’s exactly what we did a few weeks back. We went to Sloterplas lake, one of the big lakes in Amsterdam, and spent our lunch time at Meram restaurant.
Offering great view facing the lake, Meram restaurant serves diverse menu of Turkish delights. We started with fried chicken nuggets and cheese (because of our baby), continued with lamb racks, and finished it with Baklava cake. All of them were surprisingly delicious. Fortunately we shared all of them, as they came in big portion, at least to our standard.
We would like to recommend this restaurant to everybody, but please be prepared for slow service during peak times. And they also did not accept American Express as payment method, which is a bit contradictory with the information available on their Facebook Fan Page. But overall, Meram is one of the go to restaurants for delicious Turkish delights in Amsterdam. And they also have dedicated kids play room behind the restaurant, very kids friendly atmosphere.
